Questions

Is Gurus really free?

You bet! Figure out travel, plan for your meals, and then come enjoy the free conference! (But we do appreciate any help we can get to make this event possible.)

Who Attends Grusus

Anyone serving in a technical, creative, or leadership role in any church denomination is welcome!
This is your chance once a year to geek out with like minded people who love the church. It’s a place of encouragement, community, and hanging out with other people who are in the trenches with you every week. We have tons of fun, learn some new things, get inspired, meet new people, and worship Jesus without any distraction or fear of pushing a button at the wrong time.
If you are a staff or volunteer in any of these areas then you are a Guru.

  • Technical Directors
  • Creative Staff
  • Graphic Designers
  • Video Editors
  • Audio Engineers
  • Lighting Directors
  • Producers

Classes are geared toward audio, video, lighting, post-production, and leadership so bring your whole team! We’ll see you there!

What do I need to bring?

You are welcome to bring a computer, notebook, mini-blackboard to share ideas and connect further, but you really don’t need to bring anything!

Will this year’s event “sell-out”?

Churches often have a legal maximum occupancy and this year is no exception. We will let you know in advance if we are closing in on that limit!

When will the workshops be posted?

We recognize that this information is a key feature in making group plans for heading to Gurus. Therefore, this will be a top priority to get to you as soon as we can!

Will the schedule change?

Being a free conference, booking speakers and teachers can occasionally require some last minute schedule change-ups, but rest assured the dates for this year’s event are set in stone!

Are meals included?

This completely depends on how many donations were received for each particular event. Again, we will provide this information to you as soon as possible!

Will there be Tech Olympics this year?

All we can say is… Better practice your cable-coiling skills!

When/Where will the next event be?

We have begun planning future events, but nothing has been finalized yet. We’ll keep you posted on this site.

Will the event be filmed?

Being an audio/video/lighting conference, we will probably be filming different aspects of the event. This will be used for promotional and archival purposes only though.
