How Gurus Started…

Several years ago a group of local church tech guys realized they were all going to the same place year after year, the NAB Conference in Las Vegas. Ben Mankin and Curtis Templeton decided to create a local community for everyone coming to NAB in order to share ideas and make new friendships. About 15 guys met at a local church in Vegas and Gurus was born. Since then, hundreds of tech folks have joined in at Gurus events around the nation each year. What We’re About…

The heart behind Gurus has always been to encourage the guy or gal working in a technical or creative position at the local church. It’s a free conference and will remain free because we want it to be about the community. Sure it’s a great place to check out the latest gear or videos, but more importantly, Gurus is a place to get refreshed, inspired, and encouraged—a place to connect with other people that have similar roles and experience. We can always learn something new regardless the size and worship style of our church. Come join us!
